ALTANO GROUP TAKES MAJORITY SHAREHOLDING IN TIERARZTPRAXIS DR. HELLING
As a national group of leading equine clinics and practices, the Altano Group has taken a majority shareholding in the Dr Helling Veterinary Practice. This first merger with a referral practice will enhance the Altano Group. The Dr Helling Veterinary Practice was founded by Dr Andreas Maria Helling over 20 years ago in Dorsten. The six employees, including three vets, treat horses and small animals. The practice in the southern part of Münsterland will fit perfectly into the Altano Group due to its regional attachment as a referral practice to Tierärztliches Kompetenzzentrum Karthaus GmbH. Dr Helling will head up the practice as Branch Manager until 1 August. Management will then be taken on by vet Marc Ebbinghaus, who currently works in the Tierklinik Karthaus GmbH team, focussing on orthopaedics and mobile practice.
Dr Helling, Dr Helling Veterinary Practice Branch Manager: “I’m pleased that I will be leaving my life’s work in good, competent hands, and that my patients will continue to be well looked after.”
Vet Marc Ebbinghaus, future Dr Helling Veterinary Practice Branch Manager, is looking forward to his new role: “My future role as the Branch Manager of the Dr Helling Veterinary Practice in Dorsten will allow me to work in close collaboration with Tierärztliches Kompetenzzentrum Karthaus (Karthaus Veterinary Centre of Excellence) at a high professional level, benefiting from knowledge transfer.”
Dr Victor Baltus, CEO of Altano Gruppe GmbH, adds: “Our goal is to have a good level of collaboration with regional veterinary practices that are connected to centres of excellence. By organising night and weekend services together, and by training and further developing young colleagues, this kind of collaboration will help the veterinary profession to continue to be seen as attractive in the long-term as well as ensuring that patients are cared for.” With the acquisition of the Dr Helling Veterinary Practice, the regional presence in Münsterland has been reinforced for the Altano Group and the development of its leading position in the field of equine medicine has been consistently pursued.
Sancovia initiated the transaction and provided consulting services to the buyer throughout the entire process.
