ALTANO GROUP TAKES MAJORITY SHAREHOLDING IN PFERDEKLINIK AM KIRCHBERG
As a national group of leading equine clinics and practices, the Altano Group has taken a majority shareholding in the Kirchberg Horse Clinic. This state-of-the-art clinic was founded in 2011 by Dr Uwe Heidbrink, between Holzkirchen and Bad Tölz, and offers the full spectrum of equine medicine, including colic surgery. The focus lies in orthopaedics, orthopaedic surgery and diagnostic imaging. The clinic thus includes a Hallmarq MRI amongst its modern equipment. The 23 highly qualified employees, including seven vets, treat around 3,500 patients a year. Dr Uwe Heidbrink has an exceptional reputation going back more than 20 years in the fields of orthopaedics and surgery, and works as a surgical consultant. The Kirchberg Horse Clinic is a teaching institution for the training of specialist vets in equine medicine and surgery.
Dr Uwe Heidbrink, who will run Pferdeklinik am Kirchberg Altano GmbH as Managing Director, says: “We believe the merger with the Altano Group and Ufenau points the way for the further development of already highly qualified horse clinics. In the long term, this partnership will allow the clinics both to continue advancing equine medicine and to operate in an economically structured manner.
